This post celebrates the launch of the TMC 'End of Year Show 2020' website featuring our Digital Art & Animation gallery. The gallery showcases a variety of the students' artwork which demonstrates their learning, exploration and development whilst studying this year. Read below to find out more. .

Normally, the Final Major Project is an opportunity for all media students to commit themselves to a set period of time where they can enhance their current learning by exploring new artistic concepts, production methods and techniques thus developing specific media skills in a medium which they are creatively excited about. Learners are encouraged to be ambitious and reflective of their own talent skills and knowledge before selecting a project. Each learner is given access to a broad variety of project briefs, some of these briefs are from competitions and new clients, as well as a huge bank of briefs from the past four years. This is truly a great way for our media students to challenge themselves at the end of their year of creative study.
However, due to the Covid-19 lock-down and closure of all UK colleges, The Final Major Project was withdrawn from our normal end of year lesson delivery but many students desperately wanted to present their digital work to an audience. Therefore, The Manchester College decided to hold an online event to showcase their talent, this showcase was named 'The End Of Year Show 2020'. The digital art and animation gallery which is featured on the website is a collection of artwork produced by students. Some of the artwork was produced whilst they were in college and other pieces were produced whilst they were at home during the lock-down period. To support our students during this time they were given an opportunity to select any of the briefs from the Final Major Project and produce a product using the constraints set within the brief.
Our team of media staff: Geo Norris, Logan Holme and Yeng Roberts, facilitated support for our learners with online lessons using Microsoft Teams. The result of the work our students produced is impressive, we believe it demonstrates their creative talents, dedication and commitment to their personal development in Digital Art and Animation studies, and our commitment to them, as their tutors, to ensure they succeed. We, the staff at Northenden campus of The Manchester College, are delighted and proud to share with you our student gallery.
